VirG

VirG is the transcriptional activator of the VirA/VirG two-component signaling system. It is activated through histidine phosphorylation by VirA when this senses phenolic compounds. After activation, VirG will bind to a Vir box in promoter regions and activate gene transcription through cooperative binding with the RNA Polymerase (contact with its alpha subunit)
