Help:How to send parts
From partsregistry.org
The Registry accepts parts in the form of DNA (dry or eluted/resuspended).
When sending in your parts, please make sure to:
- Include the following part information:
- part number (e.g., BBa_J0001),
- plasmid the part is in (e.g., pSB1A3),
- cell strain (e.g., TOP10),
- other useful information (e.g., concentration of the DNA or total amount of DNA)
- Please write clearly (duh!!). Print if possible...
- provide a copy of this information on a piece of paper in the same box (since it is often hard to read what is printed on the tubes) AS WELL AS an electronic copy sent to Meagan (see contact information below).
- Enter all pertinent information into the Registry!! For help, see Help:How to make a BioBrick.
(Once you have entered your information into the Registry and we have received the part and entered into the repository, the part status will change to available and you will see this lovely green box
when you look at your part in the Registry.)
- DO NOT mark your part as Available. Its status will change automatically once it has been received by Meagan and entered into the repository.
Let Meagan know your parts are being shipped and provide the tracking number.
